The history of world bicycle development:
The bicycles introduced from Europe more than a hundred years ago started, developed, prospered, died out and then recovered. They have gone through the changes of several eras, and they have also witnessed the changes in Chinese family life. They understand our lives better than we do.
Now let the time turn back a bit, go back and have a look?
In the seventh year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1868), Shanghai brought a few bicycles from Europe and became a luxury for wealthy families and foreigners.
Later, in the book "Shenjiang Shengjingtu", the scene of the appearance of bicycles in the country was recorded for the first time. It was described as "a person is like stepping on a balance, but also with front and rear wheels, turning like flying, and people can walk without saving."
In 1885, many foreign companies introduced bicycles and spare parts to merchants, which belonged to foreigners.
It was not until 1897 that the first bicycle firm in the country, Tongchang Bicycle Company (the predecessor of Phoenix Bicycle) was born, which specialized in bicycles and spare parts. At the end of the 19th century, there were already six or seven car dealerships including Huimin and Cao Shuntai.
In the 1930s, Japanese businessmen opened bicycle factories in China, but the output was very small. In 1940, the domestically-made Shanghai Bicycle Factory was established, which was the predecessor of Forever bicycles.
